I had won a bunch of goodies in an auction to benefit kittycats Moki and Panther. Stuff arrived today, all except the baby Squillions. Anyway, a pic. There was a special order item(s) too - the kitty pendant and earrings. I’m wearing them now. Going to frame the cards.

Been laying in bed with an cold pack on my back cause of the pain, sciatica too when I put any weight on my leg. Been suffering ever since I lifted my grandbaby out of the crib. It is impossible to watch her for even a little bit without lifting her. It’s either the crib, changing table, high chair or a box placed too close to the DVDs and CDs. I feel old. Actually, it’s more like my back is screwed up.

There was a very long line at the Apple Store and I despaired that I wasn’t going to get in for my appointment at the Genius Bar. Luckily I didn’t have to wait in line and as the appointments ahead of me hadn’t showed, I got seen early. In and out of there in 20 minutes. Dead MacBook, left it to get fixed.

Anyway, only had one interruption. Kid called. Her phone died, was using a friend’s. Naturally, I was thinking of all those people lined up to get their new 3G iPhones. Not to worry, she wanted a new Blackberry if the phone was the problem. Thankfully for me, it was just the charger, much cheaper to replace. I wasn’t keen on signing another two year agreement with T-mobile.

No iPhones.

However, all that running around in 110° heat didn’t sit well with me. Wrong time of day for appointments and phone disasters. Had to go with her down to the T-mobile store then off to pay a bill while we were at it.

Just got the call, computer is ready. It was the logic board and they replaced the battery too. Sweet.

WordPress 2.6 is available, just showed in last couple hours so guessing I’ll be updating. I’ll start with the test site to see if all works as it should before updating the rest. Overview of new features here.

I’ll be busy and this time not petting Meowza which I did copiously earlier. He got about two hours of loving - skritches, petting, the works. All by his lonesome. On the bed, well futon actually. No bed in kid’s old room. Then he slept beside me while I read my mail.

Tomorrow it’s getting more Temptations and Purrfectly Fish for them. They are so spoiled. Even he gets spoiled a little.

It cooled down a bit, had rained so temp only got up to 96° which meant Cece came over. Oh by the way, Cece loves Temptations too, ate them all. Meowza came outside afterward, missed out on the eats. Today is LOLCat Day, hence all my posts are translated into LOLCatese by this plugin I installed. I all but forgot until just now. Just discovered the plugin has an update which changes the date to 08/08 so we get to do this all over again next month.

There really wasn’t anything newsie I wanted to blog about, maybe oil hitting $145.85 a barrel. But that doesn’t take a whole blog post.

Kitties stayed in where it’s cool, chowed down on Fancy Feast, Purrfectly Fish and Temptations. Real excitement, food is gone before the flashy can get charged up so no action shots there. But spoiled kittycats thou.

I’m almost done with the juicy novel but I won’t be staying up to finish it cause I have an early morning outing tomorrow to celebrate the Fourth.

It’s still unbearably hot thou it only got up to 110° today. Yesterday it was 114° and that’s so hot that when I put out water for the kitties, it’s too hot for them to drink. Kindof a waste. Not expected to cool down any time soon. Darn.

Cause I was in the midst of reading a juicy novel when not doing the church bit. This will be the seventh novel I’ve read so far this summer. I find reading rather enjoyable.

Also reading about Meryl’s exploits at the firing range. She did very well now all she has to do is practice with a variety of guns so she can decide what she likes. Brings back memories, haven’t shot the old S&W in ages.

And caught up with the news out of Israel which was depressing so I didn’t feel like ruining my very fine day with blogging about it. It boils down to their going to get their two soldiers back - dead - in exchange for terrorists who are very much alive. Bad idea, makes that whole war seem a waste. Looks like Hezbollah won. Expect more of the same in the future.

Bazel out during the day, didn’t even need the flashy although he was less than cooperative.

And after dark, note either he didn’t like the flashy or he didn’t like my taking a pic while he was on the can so to speak.

Yesterday I was at Target stocking up on kitty food and decided to give Temptations a try. So I got some. Gave it to the little beasties tonight and no sooner had I turned around, they were gone. Kitties must have inhaled them or something, they ate them that fast.

Cece showed up too briefly getting in the house before I shooed him outside so I put food out for him. Hadn’t seen him in days. Cats are staying where it’s cool, don’t blame them.

Got up to 112° today and expected to be 111° all week, too hot to go out in the day time but go I went to get an ingredient I was missing for a recipe. Even the inside of the store felt hot. Won’t do that again any time soon.

And summer isn’t officially here at least not for four days. We still have July and August to look forward to. Fun not!

It could be worse, lots worse. Flooding for instance. Massive flooding. Iowa, the midwest. Homes, crops destroyed. Temperature and water aren’t only things to rise. Food prices will follow.

*sigh*

It’s always something.

Lots of purrs and hugs. Then back on the scooters but I was bout wore out for the day and had CotC to do so I left.

Now I’m tired so going to rest, nap with them probably.

Got up to 109° out today, supposed to get up to 110° by Sunday, only one degree difference I know but still it’s way too hot. And I had to go out in the heat, physical therapy. Least it wasn’t far.

Kitties are in where it’s nice and cool.

I’ll go out again when it cools down. I’ve made a terrible mistake and now the little beasties are spoiled, expecting Purrfectly Fish in addition to their Fancy Feast.

Was laying with the kitties giving them the requisite skritches and petting. They did the licking each other’s heads as they jostled for the best position on my lap. First Meowza got the coveted spot then, after Meowza moved further down my legs, Bazel moved in. Meowza moved on to the cushion. After the better part of an hour, Bazel got down and I got up. Let the two of them out. This is Meowza out from a previous day cause by the time they went out, it was too dark to take pics today.

Making headlines and rattling sabers, one Shaul Mofaz. One might remember, he was my pick for the Dead Pool (run by Lair) although he never won. He is another reason oil spiked, he unnerved a few people.

Shaul Mofaz, a former chief of staff and defense minister, also said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has called for Israel’s destruction, “will disappear before Israel does,” the Yediot Ahronot daily reported.

…According to the newspaper report, Mofaz - who is now transportation minister - has concluded international sanctions haven’t curbed Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

“If Iran continues its nuclear arms program - we will attack it,” he was quoted as saying. “The sanctions aren’t effective. There will be no choice but to attack Iran to halt the Iranian nuclear program.”

No surprise there, sanctions haven’t worked. And Obama would just talk, no preconditions, with Ahmadinejad. Had to throw that in. Like talking would do any good, not even.

Incidentally, Mofaz wants to replace Olmert as head of the Kadima Party. He won’t get it. However, Israel does have a habit of attacking suspected nuclear facilities. It did destroy the one in Syria. Got a few more to take care of too. I expect it will sooner or later.

I had let Meowza out then ran to get the camera. Too late. He had already rolled in the dirt. I told him I had hoped to catch a tummy shot and he obliged by going for another roll. This was the result.

He is rather dirty, isn’t he. Here’s a closeup of his dirtiness.

Update: Later in the evening, I let Meowza out and, hearing a distinctive meow, turned on the porch light. There they were, Cece and Meowza nosekissing. And me without my camera handy.
