Report Card

Short, sweet and to the point this report card on Obama and McCain. It’s of interest for those that are concerned with the state of marriage in the States. Which marriage is crumbling. The institution of marriage that is. Must not be allowed to disintegrate. Bad things will happen if it does. There were a few other topics covered in the report card. Of note is this:

Candidates’ positions were gleaned from actual votes, actions and policies, rather than from contemporary statements that differ from past policies or statements, unless repudiated.

We would be wise to do likewise. Find out where they stand, what they have done in the past regarding whatever issues we care about. Bills they’ve sponsored, votes they have cast. Would give a clue as to how they would govern and the potential impact it would have on our lives. Moreso than speeches, no matter how eloquent.

Then too, the running mate they pick shows a lot about their critical thinking here. Who would they pick for their cabinet? Supreme Court justices, that’s a biggie.

BTW, I’m with McCain on these.
