The Dow dropped below 13,000 today. From FoxNews, the details.

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 167.45 points, or 1.29 percent, to end at 12,861.47 - or 8.4 percent below its record close. Wednesday marked the Dow’s first close below 13,000 since April 24.

The clouds enveloping the No. 1 U.S. mortgage lender, which had its biggest one-day percentage drop since 1987 and ranked among the biggest losers on the New York Stock Exchange, exacerbated concerns about the health of the mortgage lending business and its effect on wider credit markets.

Going to be one of those years. One reason I hesitated so long to start that 403B account is that people I know that did had less at the end of the year than when they started, this several years ago. I didn’t want to lose money then. Still don’t. Looks like I did.

My iMac. It was off this morning and wouldn’t turn on. Power strip was on and everything else plugged in to it was working but not the iMac. So…

Got an appointment tomorrow to get it fixed. So I am iMacless for the near future. Sucks.

And, yes, I need an appointment, can’t just bring it in for repair. Long gone are the days when you could walk up to the Genius Bar (repair department’s colorful name) and speak to a repair person without one.
