No Confidence
Should let the dead lie and not try to resurrect it but Bush is sure going to try. Tomorrow. Immigration reform. After all, can’t let down all those millions of illegals now can we. They are so hoping for amnesty. More like demanding it.
Sides, since the Dems blame Bush for not getting the Republicans in line in support of the bill, guess Bush needs to do just that. Help the Dems, get those pesky Conservatives to see it his way. Course, his use for the Senate is a bit mecurial, needed when he wants to pass his amnesty for illegals bill, not needed when they criticize his Attorney General.
He pledged to resurrect his derailed immigration bill in the Senate - “I’ll see you at the bill signing,” he declared - and dismissed Democrats’ effort to hold a no-confidence vote on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales as a waste of time.
…The president said the Senate effort was irrelevant.
“That’s going to have no bearing on whether he serves in office or not,” Bush said at a news conference with Parvanov.
Serve him right if the Senate doesn’t give him what he wants. You think that maybe some of the Senators actually listened to their constituents’ concerns? Wonder if they read any of the emails and faxes sent their way. We’ll find out soon enough whether Bush has enough clout to trump the voters.
Which voters are useful only at election time apparently. The rest of the time they get ignored. Sure seems like it.
