Cool Feature

I’m laying in bed on the iBook, in one window is the contents of the iBook and in another window is the contents of the iMac and I have been moving files from one to another mainly stuff I’ve saved since originally syncing them.

I do still use both, maybe use the iMac a little more than the iBook. Bigger screen estate to play with. Just a matter of comfort when I change off.

Still don’t use the PC much cause of comfort and, well, the PC sucks.

I will state if anyone is thinking of getting the new iMac G5, get the max amount of RAM possible. I have actually maxed out my 1GB. It is possible. Not sure if it’s all those windows and tabs open, but if the sites have animated ads or auto refreshing pages, that slows things down a lot. That’s why Firefox is so advantageous. Can block the ads.

Blood Test For MS

Israel21c has the most interesting news this morning.

There is also no way to determine who has the most severe form of the disease - approximately 20 percent of MS sufferers. If this could be diagnosed at the outset, these people could get the most aggressive treatment available.

Now, an Israeli company, Glycominds, has a simple blood test that could solve this problem by distinguishing between mild and more severe cases of MS early on. Clinical trials of the new test are about to begin across the US and Canada.

Won’t be soon enough for me but this is hopeful news. The details:

“We have identified a specific antibody, which goes into action when a foreign body enters the body, and is present in high levels in people with multiple sclerosis,” says Dukler. Tests showed that this is not something common to all those with neurological disorders, but specific to MS. “More active forms [of MS] have a much higher level of [this] antibody than others.” This is known as a ‘biomarker’ for a specific disease.

If the clinical trials show this works, it will totally change the way MS is diagnosed and treated. Of course, MS can do damage even without symptoms but predicting when one will have symptoms will make a difference. Won’t help me thou. Now, think my Copaxone has warmed enough enough to shoot myself. Imagine not having to do that. Every. Single. Day.
