Wictory Wednesday

Blogs for Bush notes we picked up 4 Senate seats this year, including that of Tom Daschle, which is, in my humble opinion, a big win. Daschle gone, sweet. I’m sure the Democrats are smarting over their losses and will try harder to win next time so we need to redouble our efforts. Let’s keep our majority. You can help by donating to the NRSC. (more…)

Around the Sphere

Warning: Remove all beverages from the vicinity of your computer before reading this, absolutely brilliant, the Left can be so much fun. Hat tip Desert Cat.

I’m not done with the idiots.

PETA is now stumping for the rights of fish not to be eaten as they are intelligent species.

Following in Janet Jackson’s silicone enhanced missteps, ABC gives us porn before football, taped even.

The latest rage is doggie sunglasses. How long have animals lived on this planet without needing sunglasses?

And Russia has developed new nukes “that could make the United States’ proposed missile-defense system useless.” And that’s the point. Couple that with Putin’s crackdown on freedom and be afraid. Be very afraid.

Scouts Honor

Apparently someone has a problem with this.

On my honor I will do my best:
* To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law
* To help other people at all times
* To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight

It’s the word “God” that so rankles the ACLU that they have successfully banned the U.S. military from sponsoring Boy Scout troops. Quoting WND:

The ACLU complained the Boy Scouts of America “requires troop and pack leaders, in this case government employees, to compel youth to swear an oath of duty to God.”

OK, if the Boy Scouts have to go, guess the military should get rid of Chaplains, you know those Ministers, Priests, Imams and Rabbis that serve providing all the benefits of religion to our soldiers. After all that involves duty to God too. By the same sense of logic, having Chaplains, paying for their services also supports religion and God. Dumb if you ask me. Let the military support scouts. It does good as quoted from WND.

Beck says there’s been no resistance to his effort, as he works with the Iraqi Center for Reconciliation, which includes leaders from the region’s diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds.

“All of them agree that Scouting is good for their young people, their communities, themselves, the country. It promotes what I call universal values. It doesn’t have to be American or British or Jordanian or South African or anybody’s beliefs. It’s something every decent person in the world can agree on. These are the values of right and wrong.”

And what is wrong with values? Especially if it helps people. We are trying to help the Iraqis and the ACLU is shooting us in the back.
