Had quite the morning. Fed the other cats then removed the food. Got the cat carriers at the ready and opened the door to my kid’s room where Meowza, Izzy, and Bazel spent the night. Meowza was the easiest to catch, got hiim in the carrier but as I wasn’t familiar with how the latch worked, he got out as I was stuffing Izzy in another carrier. I put him back in and carefully studied how to latch it. Got it that time.
Then the hard part. Bazel was having nothing to do with me and ran away. I spent the good part of the next twenty minutes chasing him down even going so far as bringing out some kitty treats (which Keefe ate). He ran in back of a bookcase, under a chair, behind the dining room table, under a stool then finally he tried to hide on a shelf that didn’t have an exit. He was cornered. I grabbed him from behind, extricated his claws from the shelving, and carried him to the cat carrier all the while getting mauled in the process.
Meowza and Izzy were waiting in the car (where I stuffed them partway thru the chase) when I brought Bazel in. I was nice to them not having the music too loud as I drove to the vet. No worry, they drowned me out with their meows. Meowza was the loudest. Cat was appropriately named.
They shut up at the vet’s and just sat quietly in their carriers, eyes wide, hyperventilating. There were some big dogs there. I did warn the vet about Bazel and he didn’t bring him out of the cage when he initially examined him. Told me all the kittys looked healthy, testicles descended, no ear mites. I’m to call around 3PM to see if they are awake and will be picking them up shortly after if they are.
Cats taken care of, I went to vote. Good time of day, no lines, about ten people voting at the time. No exit polls, no partisan peeps either. Expect around dinnertime, there just might be some lines, usually are. Will be anxiously waiting the results.
Came home to find Psycho Cat beside herself missing her babies. She’ll be anxiously waiting their return. And I expect Meowza (pictured above) will get even fatter once fixed.
