There is a good part to those idiots hiding tail and running away - namely this from Donald Sensing.

It lessens the chance that the United Nations will gain operational control over the democratization of Iraq or other inimical places (cough, Iran, cough). Remember, the UN has no troops of its own, and the willingness of small countries to provide combat forces to enforce the UN’s will (assuming the UN ever actually finds a will to enforce) is not realistically to be expected.

He points out how the U.N. needs U.S. troops to do it’s dirty work but we don’t need them. For containing Iran, which is now surrounded in case anyone forgets, I suggest a small but effective coalition - the U.S., Israel and, if willing, Britian. Don’t need anyone else especially those idiots in the U.N..
