Either It’s Late

Or this has to be the funniest thing I’ve read all day. It even beat out this one of a tortured Iraqi and no it’s not one of Aaron’s Photoshop masterpieces.

Think Lair was having a dull day at the office. He is definitely more creative than Nardo when it comes to his entertainment.

116 Days 7 Hours

Left til I stop hearing it was all an election ploy, Bush’s fault, yada yada yada!

I can hardly wait. Sides which, if they didn’t announce Al Qaida’s election plans and they did pull off an attack, we would never hear the end of it. Better to be prepared than sorry.

Better to be prepared in any case for anything irregardless. Never know when something really bad might happen like MS. That happened and it’s really bad.

Conversely, Apple is really good except for that idiot sitting on their board of directors.

Infinite Cat Project

There is no way any of my cats will sit still for this project, staring at a monitor with a cat on it. Best I can do is a cat staring at Bill O’Reilly and trick to getting the cat and the TV both in the picture before the cat goes off all bored. Last shot just got the video drawers the TV was sitting on in it.

Sides which, I don’t even want to let a cat near my iBook. Cat hairs in the keyboard, ewwww!

Hat tip, the newly blogrolled Athenamama.

Braaaaaaaaaaaaains!

OK, chanced on this blog from a comment at Kate’s and well, this post has a chihuahua in it, a most interesting chihuahua indeed. To quote a little bit to tantilize you.

In my dream Jacquline had some condition that required the removal of her skullcap. I evidently was talented in the removal of Chihuahua skullcaps, because I performed the operation. The procedure was a success, and Jacquline happily romped around our dream house with the top of her brain exposed.

What’s not to like, it has chis, brains, and won’t spoil it, just have to read it to get to the good part.

18 Tir Iranian Protests

In memory of the July 1999 student uprising, students are protesting again with expected results. From SMCCDI (Information Service) is this news:

The brutal intervention of the regime’s official and plainclothes agents has lead, tonight, to the arrests and injuries of tens of protesters in most main Iranian cities. In Tehran alone, the clashes are wide spread and are happening in Amir Abad, Tajrish, Zarabkhane, Kargar, Guisha, Kargar, Sadeghie, Narmak, Noor, vali e Asr and Enghelab area.

Other clashes have happened, so far, in Esfahan, Shiraz and Mashad were those having defied once again the Islamic State are shouting slogans for a democratic regime change in Iran.

Many have been injured or arrested and transferred by full buses to the regime’s detention centers,

Show your support for freedom in Iran. Quoting again:

It is the moral duty of all Iranians Worldwide and the inherent mission of all free people living in a democracy to put an end to the main generator of terror and fanaticism in the Middle East by supporting the people of Iran in their legitimate struggle!

Jewelry

When my kid saw me, she commented, “Oooo, you have a new bracelet.”

Then she looked at it…. closely.

On the bracelet were the words “Medic Alert.”

“Oh!” she said.

Figured it was a good idea especially after she had asked me once if I was drunk. MS has that effect sometimes.

Lego Man

Go see, it’s a perfect match. Yes, it’s not just his hair, it’s everything, Edwards is the Lego man.

Style Vs Substance

Jay has a thoughtful post on the Johns.

The same qualities with which Democrats of old derided Reagan - his emphasis of style over substance, his politics of optimism, his life having lived the American Dream - are the same qualities that Democrat commentators on the television news were touting of Edwards.

Er, there are a few notable differences between Edwards and Reagan.

Reagan was NOT a trial lawyer. Thank you God for that.

Reagan was a man of faith and although I don’t know how much faith Edwards has, I’m willing to bet the Democrats aren’t going to run on faith in God. If this guy (Robert Reich, the former U.S. labor secretary under President Bill Clinton) is any indication, they aren’t. Quoting from WND cause I’m not paying for the original source article:

The great conflict of the 21st century will not be between the West and terrorism. Terrorism is a tactic, not a belief. The true battle will be between modern civilization and anti-modernists; between those who believe in the primacy of the individual and those who believe that human beings owe their allegiance and identity to a higher authority; between those who give priority to life in this world and those who believe that human life is mere preparation for an existence beyond life; between those who believe in science, reason, and logic and those who believe that truth is revealed through Scripture and religious dogma. Terrorism will disrupt and destroy lives. But terrorism itself is not the greatest danger we face.

It would appear at least one Democrat and possibly more feel belief in God is a greater danger than terrorism. That’s a rather large segment of America here. Hey, moggie’s more dangerous than Al Qaida.

And it remains to be seen if Edwards can come up with the memorable one liners Reagan has. Reagan had a wonderful sense of humor.

And substance, Reagan had substance. He was one of our greatest Presidents.

Cats

Yesterday, while watching Mad Bill, I filled the recycling trashcan. As it was rather hot and hot makes me more numb, I didn’t take it out.

My mistake.

Today, I went to get breakfast and saw the trash all over the living room and dining room floors and cat poop in front of my door. :grrr:

I cleaned up the cat poop and am leaving the rest for my kid to pick up. They are her cats.

Terror Alert Level

Watching Fox News, threat increased but level not raised, why? IMHO, here’s why.

  1. Not national, just New York and Boston and not even Boston cause the terrorists want Kerry to win.
  2. New York has been on heightened alert since 9/11 anyway.
  3. Raising it would cost big bucks, don’t want to do that before an election.
  4. Al Qaida has yet to succeed at anything since 9/11.

What, me worry? Naw.

On Hair

Insightful analysis on a couple of boys with hair at The Crusader and at Blogs for Bush. Suffice it to say, “the hair” doesn’t cut it.

Sides, when it comes to hair, nobody beats Sephiroth.

Sucks

I never get to go to stuff, invited to a party and due to prior committments, can’t go or host the party.

In a few days, I will join tens of thousands of the President’s supporters in a live conference call.

You can join this call by hosting a Party for the President on Thursday, July 15th.

A Party for the President is a simple, free volunteer event that brings together local friends and neighbors who support the President.  At these parties we’ll provide you with exclusive campaign materials and most importantly, postcards that your party attendees can fill out and mail to undecided voters in your area.

One of the most important things you can do in this campaign is talk to your friends and neighbors about the President’s accomplishments and his leadership.  Hosting a Party for the President makes neighbor-to-neighbor, person-to-person campaigning easy.

To sign up to host your party or find a party near you, visit GeorgeWBush.com/Party.

I hope you’ll join me in this nationwide event as we spread the President’s optimistic message, recruit volunteers, and energize grassroots supporters.

I look forward to speaking with you on July 15th.

Sincerely,

[signed]Laura Bush

Checking, they list the available parties by zip code but I have to enter my info to get invited to a particular party. Clueless which is closest thou but it does protect one’s privacy as having one’s address out on the net is not exactly desirable. Hosting any party is out due to health reasons.

The Johns

After being up some 25+ hours yesterday, I was finally able to sleep. Got about 12 hours worth except for the requisite getting up to go to the john which, of course, reminded me of this of which my favorite is…

flush johns

We are so going to have fun with this. To quote WND’s Hal Lindsey:

I wish I were a Republican strategist. The Democrats hail the selection of John Edwards as bringing “balance” to the ticket. A comparison of the voting records of the two Johns with Teddy Kennedy open up all kinds of possibilities. Having a presidential ticket which is collectively to the left of Ted Kennedy is almost too good to be true.

The prospect of John Kerry, whose wife is reportedly a billionaire, and John Edwards, a millionaire trial lawyer, campaigning as champions of the underprivileged is almost cartoonish in its absurdity.

It is almost as absurd as the image of the two millionaires trying to convince the underprivileged that the only way to fix America’s economic problems is to raise their taxes.

And they have to accomplish this trick while pretending that the economy is not in the midst of the strongest economic recovery since the Reagan administration (despite the numbers that say it is).

Indeed. However, they have “the hair” which brings the question why Teresa Heinz Kerry’s hair looked so awful in news clips yesterday. One would think with her money she could afford a hairdresser.
