My Worst Fears

This to wit, Microsoft involved in Homeland Security. Quoting News.com:

“Together, we provide a compelling solution for Homeland Security programs involving biometrics, smart cards, tamper-proof identities and physical security controls,” said Mark Belk, Microsoft’s chief architect for homeland security software.

Who makes the most insecure software?

….Microsoft. Just the thought of them involved in anything security related is laughable. However, the thought of tamper-proof identities should scare any sensible person. Chipping anyone. I can see it now, you cease functioning once chipped until you call Microsoft for human activation. Human XP. Yeah, right.

Hot Topic Commenting

Probably read all about it by now from Kevin, Michele, or the master of wit and kittycams himself where I read it first.

However, I have something to say about that.

WordPress has some pretty spiffy comment moderation built in. I can flag commenters by number of links or by certain words. Say the right words and your comment will be moderated. If it doesn’t show up, oh wait a while and I’ll get to it if it’s legit. It also limits how often you can comment, kills a ton of spam.

That said, MT Blacklist works rather well too. I was impressed how once a spam comment was flagged, I could easily delete all comments made by said spammer. I like.

And I registered at TypeKey so I can still comment on blogs that use it.

So, not that commenting is a biggie for me, it is for some sites and some have, among their many hundreds of commenters, idiots that can’t be civil. Civil is nice and if you can’t be civil, be funny. Some people are neither. Have at ‘em. Go Lair!

Thinking Of Me

Lair with, now…

*drumroll* two cat cams */drumroll*

And despite the incredible distraction, I still find the time to pick up the steaming piles of cat crap my cats leave me. Time to change the kitty litter…

no wonder I am broke.

I don’t photograph the kitty disasters, too depressing. So no, you can’t look.

SSEP VEP

Zapped, done, completed, to be read by a neurologist and results forwarded to my doc. I’ll know sometime in late September. It’s not pressing, life threatening, and after all that Solu-Medrol, probably normal anyway so I’m not likely to know any sooner.

End of story.

On The Johns

Two Johns in search of a trick. Let’s give them a real treat instead by volunteering and/or donating to the Bush campaign. I have. Ooo, and I just got (in addition to those nice Presidential photos the post office likes to destroy) a W’04 bumper sticker. That is so going on my car. Presidential mail rocks. (more…)
