Aetna considerz hospital admission for intravenouz steroid therapy medically necessary for teh treatment ov an acute exacerbashun ov multiple sclerosiz dat resultz in any ov teh followin severe neurological deficitz:Acute fulminant multiple sclerosiz characterizd by headache, vomitin, convulsionz nd eventually coma, wit severe compromise ov functionin ov teh central nervouz system; or
Acute quadriplegia; or
Acute pseudobulbar palsy [involvez difficulty in speakin or swallowin]; or
Acute transverse myelitiz (or Brown-Sequard syndrome) wit losz ov funcshun below teh level ov a suspectd lesion in teh spinal cord [can't pee, poop or walk]; or
Acute cerebral symptomz wit severe losz ov intellectual capacity [become stupid liek teh hird halp]; or
Acute epileptic seizure: or
Acute visual losz [bet dey'd expect me to drive too].
Note, medically necessary doesn’t mean dey will covr it. Must check insurance to see if dey covr teh stuff b4 teh fact. LOL!!!1! LOL!!!1! Shur bet mah company doesn’t covr mah weaknesz, numbnesz nd visual disturbancez, not bad enough. Not bettr eithr. Note, I didn’t go to teh ER, I jus calld teh doc. Awwww!!!1! I’ve had enough experience wit insurance companinez to noes enough when not to go there. But dey shud provide patient edumakayshun so teh poor sick peepz haz a clue.
