9/11 Commission Disaster

Lisa has a roundup of links to all you need to know about the 9/11 Commission. One pleasant thought, when they nuke New York, there will be fewer families around to complain and jeer at the one person who keeps it all together and does what needs to be done. The best of disaster drills could never have prepared them for a disaster of that magnitude. Fact is many thousands lived who might not have. The Emergency services, police, fire performed admirably under duress and people should shut their traps. Mayor Giuliani went from mayor to hero IMHO that day.

Course, being an election year, they won’t. Got to grandstand. Books to sell, people to ruin and all.

Won’t even get into Nancy Pelosi. Yes, I heard.

Not A Happy Camper

Went to the store, thought a wrist brace might help the pain. Dumb checkout person missed the item and I have to go back to get it. Still waiting on Frey’s office, hasn’t called back. Don’t expect them to either any time soon.

Last ditch effort will be my essentially useless PCP, was useless when I had back pain, expect nothing more. She doesn’t believe in giving meds for pain. Not that there aren’t meds, there’s a ton of stuff that might help. But without a doc seeing me, I get zip. Nothing. Nada.

Anyway, it hurts too much to type so won’t be blogging as much. Can’t stand the pain. Not in a very good mood either. Somewhere between where did I put the bullets and total despair.

Update: Frey was booked til August, said they had patients that have stroke, migraine, etc., more important than my wanting to see the doc. They suggested seeing a general Neurologist. Least I found out how to get my test results and it’s going to cost. Will attempt to get them then go see PCP tomorrow cause that’s fastest. Might help, worth a try something to tide me over til I can get proper treatment.

Wondering why bother going to the ER at all if once released from the hospital, people are left hanging.

Now This Is Interesting

From the Jerusalem Post, the wall is on the verge of collapse.

The eastern wall of Jerusalem’s Temple Mount is in danger of immediate collapse, which could cause a ‘domino effect’ and bring down other sections of ancient compound, the head of the Israel Antiquities Authority Shuka Dorfman said Tuesday.

The rare public warning, made at a meeting of the Knesset’s Interior Committee, came one month after a team of senior Egyptian and Jordanian engineers began to carry out tests to determine the stability of the eastern wall.

Dorfman’s first public comments on the issue Tuesday followed a classified report issued by the Israel Antiquities Authority earlier this year, which stated that the 2,000- year-old wall was in danger of immediate collapse as a result of a February earthquake that rattled the region. The report says that the February 11 earthquake damaged the eastern wall of the Temple Mount to such an extent that sections of the wall are liable to cave in on the underground architectural support of the mount, known as Solomon’s Stables.

New cracks and movements in the already fragile wall were discerned by archaeologists following the earthquake, the report states.

Any chance that mosque could be damaged? Get rid of mosque. Need to rebuild a Jewish temple here, go for it.

Oh So Gay Pink

In the pink, Jay with Arkette. He was inspired by Matt’s redo of Michael’s blog in manly pink which oh so gay pink was inspired by the Barbie pink Ms Moto template which, due to the girly association, as opposed to the discreet gray of the Mr Moto template, caused a furor.

Maybe I could do pink too. Something with Chu Chu or Chibi Usa perhaps. Did have something on the old site, must rework that. In the meantime, peeps will just have to satisfy themselves with the pink text in my Lady Croft skin (matches Angelina’s lipstick).

Then too, Michael’s tagline, “I’m too sexy for my blog.” reminds me of Sephy, perhaps Sephy’s pink little butt, yeah. That’s a good pink, must resurrect that skin, was the first one I did too.
