Not Isolated

That moonbat wasn’t an isolated case, go check this out. People at SF Indymedia are encouraging the moonbats to attack our military and police. Why? They think we have declared war on Islam. Let’s forget for a moment that radical Islam has declared jihad against the infidels, that be us, and let’s forget for a moment that despite the activities of a few, for the most part the prisoners in Abu Ghraib are treated humanely. Focus instead on the fact that the left are encouraging attacks against the U.S., our own government. I consider that treasonable.

And it isn’t much of a stretch to take the next step, attacking people who support the President and/or are Republican. Imagine if the Left get in power. Then they would have the full arsenal of the government to attack us.

Death by moonbat. Oh well, probably better than Dhimmitude.

Good Design Bad Design

From the WordPress support forum, an interesting list. Highlighting a few from several comments…

Using “strikeout” for visited links. [I don't even like underlined links]

Personally I cannot stand the plethora of little buttons that people use on their sites. [got too many myself, prob is some causes demand a button if you link]

Having far too many links. [guilty, easier than having to update all my browsers with new favorites, so moved most of them to a links page]

CSS shadows on text. [haven't tried that, might be cool]

Photoshopped shadows on graphics. [can look nice]

What the author is playing on iTunes right now.

Dashed borders.

“Comments (0) Trackbacks (0)” under every post. [WP has them combined, only one listed]

Mouseover effects. [can be cool]

People thinking they know better than the browser designer what cursor a particular HTML element should have.

Answers to the Friday Five. [lucky you, that meme has been discontinued]

Which _____ character are you? [sometimes silly stuff can be fun]

Links that change size on hover. [that even annoys me]

Weather pixies. [won't use cause it's too depressing to see how hot it is]

Squidfingers backgrounds. Cool the first time you see them, getting monotonous now. [what are squidfingers? these?]

Blue, white and gray. [black is cool]

Anything ending in “Pundit”

Anything containing “Rant”

Anything containing the word “musings”

Weblogs consisting of republished posts from other Weblogs, on an unreliable variety of subjects (so they’re not useful as aggregators), and nothing else [especially if they don't link back and give credit]

Weblogs with long posts, presented using light text on a dark background to make them harder to read [in the middle of the night, opening up the old iBook, dark background is easier on the eyes, not so blinding]

Weblogs using the royal “we”

Weblogs that open comments in new windows

Movable Type Weblogs with comments, since they all want to open their comments in the same window [hey, I like that feature, especially the drop down comments]

Weblogs with animated smiley graphics. [guilty as charged ]

They forgot zonkboards. Oh, and anything beginning with “The”. No matter, variety is the spice of life. Do what you like, it’s your blog. It’d be boring if we all did the same thing.

Sides which is isn’t a very good idea.

It Gets Better

Just cause you’re raised in America doesn’t mean you’re human, have moral values, or in any way are better than those you torture.

And these are the people they will be judging the U.S. by. Is it any wonder people hate us?

It is imperative that we show the world that those subhuman cretins that behave deplorably against their fellow man are not typical Americans. Nor typical women, trying to outdo the men in bad behavior destroys any respect one may have for said women.

However, it was enlightening to find out that there are still places untouched by civilization, West Virginia being one of those. Won’t be planning any visits there soon, think I’ll stick to the civilized world.

Bad Kitties

Yesterday found a sculpture destroyed by the cats and, after much thought, I have decided I need to put all the china and breakables away but haven’t gotten up to doing so yet.

See, their mom was a destructive little beastie when she was little. Don’t want to lose any more stuff.

Kid was more ambitious. Just came in to tell me she solved the cat pee problem. Psycho Cat has done a terrible job teaching them not to pee and poop in the litterpan hence they have gone everywhere. She ripped up half the carpet in the house.

This is going to get expensive.

Update: I looked, almost everything from the back room is in the living room and place is a disaster. Just what I always wanted.

Idiot

Actually met one of them, a moonbat, guy stated he wanted to shoot Bush. Wanted to shoot me too cause I support Bush and I’m a Republican.

You’d think it was some sort of disease - being Republican.

My reply, “fine.” I didn’t particularly care if he shot me or not. Think of the example he would have been to the other moonbats if he had.

Real shining example.

The New MP’s

Kinder, gentler, I think not. This article from WND blows a hole in that.

The pictures from Abu Ghraib of male Iraqi prisoners stripped naked, demeaned and sexually humiliated by female soldiers blows the lid off the theory of a kinder, gentler military.

Furthermore, the general in charge of the 800th Military Police Brigade at the prison just happened to be the only female commander in the war zone.

Did Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski own up to her failure? Did she stand up and accept the blame and take her punishment like a … uh … man?

No, she took it like Janet Jackson. In other words, the naked men in these photos were the Iraqi equivalent of a “wardrobe malfunction.”

Let’s see, Muslim country where everyone knows men and women are kept separate. Men doctors don’t treat women and vs vs. Women are to be covered. Everyone knows that. How stupid does someone have to be to not know that? How insensitive does one have to be to not respect cultural differences? There is absolutely no excuse for it. None whatsoever. We are trying to free Iraq, going against cultural mores is a slap in the face against everything we are trying to do.

In her media interviews over the past week, Karpinski claimed she and other reservists were unfairly singled out for blame because they are considered “disposable.” She, in turn, singled out the military intelligence unit that controlled Cellblock 1A, where her soldiers guarded Iraqi detainees between interrogations.

However, seven of her reservists were captured on film smiling and laughing as they humiliated the prisoners - and three of the seven were women.

A report issued by Maj. Gen. Antonio M. Taguba and made public by Seymour Hersh in the New Yorker Magazine, indicates that the military police at the prison under her command were influenced by or following orders from intelligence personnel, CIA officers or linguists working as government contractors - at least some of the time. From the photographs, it appears that the MPs had no problem with these activities and that much of the illegal activity was done on their own initiative.

I am aware our military has guarded enemies that were interrogated by intelligence ours/not ours. They did not treat the prisoners in an inhumane manner. Irregardless of what a person has done, one can feel compassion and treat them humanely. There is no excuse for it.

However, Gen. Taguba concluded that the solders under Karpinski were “poorly prepared and untrained” and that some of her administrative problems were “without precedent in my military career.”

Gee, ok, having done it myself, guarded both male and female prisoners, common sense dictated humane treatment. What these MP’s did was pure and simple sadism. I don’t claim any great amount of training although the Sheriff’s Department gave me more training than the Army. If any of them were in the corrections field in civilian life, they should have a clue. Course, from what I hear about our prisons, maybe they don’t care. In their rush to outdo Uday and Qusay, they ruined it for everyone. And at work, I got to see more pictures, front page stuff, absolutely horrifying. And you know cause it’s the U.S., it’s all the worse. We’re not supposed to treat people that way.
